Well... Today is New Year's Eve! I can hardly believe it. I am going to share with you some makeup looks I found on Pinterest that I think would be great for a party or gathering to celebrate the New Year. I know that many bloggers are sharing outfit looks, but an outfit is not complete without makeup! So let's begin the perfect makeup look search!

I hope this will help you when it comes to deciding what type of makeup look you would like for an evening or day of fun!
I cannot believe that the Christmas Season has crept up on us again. It is crazy how fast time is going. There are endless options when it comes to gift giving but I am not the most creative person when it comes to picking out items. I am more of a need based giver. I love giving or receiving gifts that I will be able to use and wear. I have put together a list of items that you can get for loved ones this Christmas.
Adele's New album 25 is incredible. If you haven't listed to it or bought it you are missing out! If you have a friend or family member that is obsessed with Adele, this is the perfect gift. Next on the list is a Nail Polish set. Nail polish is so versatile and you can't go wrong with this classic gift. I think the colors in the Olivia Palermo x Ciate London set are beautiful and great for anyone. If you are willing to take the plunge and purchase a more expensive gift I would suggest this Vince knit sweater. Turtlenecks are a wardrobe staple, especially if you live in a colder environment. I also think turtlenecks add a sophisticated look to an everyday outfit!Another good piece to give is a Polo Ralph Lauren Oxford knit, it is classic and will look good on anyone no matter what their style is. Socks are an easy gift to give and you can never have to many socks! The Fair Isle socks, Burgundy pompom hat, and scarves are perfect stocking stuffers. Lastly, this Monogramed Mug is super cute and personalized! I hope this list helps you with your Christmas shopping! Merry Christmas!
When I visited NYC, I wanted to wear an outfit that was sophisticated yet comfortable to be walking around in. Since it is warmer than it should be in December, I was able to wear a cable knit turtleneck with ablazer.I thought a fun way pull the outfit together was if I wore red lipstick. I love the way this outfit looks! The scarfand the red lip made me think about the holiday season.
It was fun to add drama to my outfit by wearing a bold lip. It was definitely out of my comfort zone wearing this bright red lipstick by Sephora (shade #01 Always Red). Because I went out of my comfort zone, I was able to build confidence and I appreciated the way I looked wearing this beautiful shade. I encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and wear something that you wouldn't normally and be confident! Appreciate your beauty and learn what works for you.
I cannot believe that it's December! Now that it is getting closer to Christmas, I wanted to share with you an outfit that I think will be great for a holiday gathering. Of course you can dress up this outfit more than I did by adding some accessories and heels, but I am more comfortable in flats. When I think of Christmas I automatically think about wearing red, green, or black. Instead of those traditional colors, I wore a navy geometric skirt with a cable knit turtleneck. I think this will be the perfect outfit for attending a gathering that does not require you to wear black tie but still look nice.
In the fall and now almost winter, I like to keep my outfits simple. My usual winter uniform is a sweater, scarf, jeans, and boots. I obviously don't wear the same thing, but it is usually the same concept. Before it gets too cold and the winter thick jackets have to be brought out, making a statement with your jacket is the best way to add an interesting twist to a normal everyday look.
If you have read my Fall vest post then you would have seen this vest already. In todays post, I wanted to share with you another way you can wear this long vest. The last time I wore it over a thin sweater and with a scarf because it was not as cold then as it is now. This suede vest is very versatile and a great investment. I highly recommend it, especially if you live in colder climates. I paired this vestwith a classic J. Crew turtleneck sweater and jean jacket, Paige denim, and over the knee boots. I think this look is simple but will do its job to keep you warm.
If I am wearing a basic outfit, I like to add either a statement sweater or scarf to make the outfit different or just to add some texture. Stripes are a great way to add color to an outfit or to make it more interesting. This outfit I am wearing incorporates dark colors, so I wanted to break it up by wearing a white striped sweater.
When picking out an outfit, I always ask myself what my statement piece of the day is going to be. Statement pieces makes each outfit unique! A statement piece could be anything from an amazing Royal blue Rickybag by Ralph Laurenor a colorful blanket scarf. Unfortunately you cannot see the collard shirt that I am wearing underneath this sweater but it is so cool! It is striped and has an ombre affect. It goes from a neutral color at the top and fades down to a navy blue! Add a statement piece and have fun with your outfits!
Incorporating military pieces into your wardrobe can add a polished and "borrowed from the boys" look that I love. There are so many ways to make a military jacket or shirt look feminine and really stand out as a unique piece. I always gravitate to military inspired pieces, maybe it is the structure of the clothing, the color, or twill like material that makes me love it.
For the outfit I am wearing, I paired this military inspired shirt byPOLO Ralph Laurenwith ripped white jeans, ankle boots, and a loose cotton scarf. If you think an military piece looks to masculine, there are many ways to add a feminine touch to create the perfect balance, for me it is always a scarf. What I love most about this shirt is that it does not look like a regular button down shirt.
There is nothing more that I love than layering. Layering adds a preppy and polished look. Even in the colder temperatures, when I layer my clothing I still have the option of whether or not I want to wear a jacket, while it is not needed. Since this weather has been having mood swings (a.k.a warm one day, freezing the next) it has been difficult to find a balance between bundling up and bracing the cold or wearing thinner shirts or sweaters with a light jacket.
For this fall outfit, I wore a chambray shirt, a cable knit sweater on top, and a puffy vest. I thought it would've been nice to wear a boot with a small heel to elevate the look. Since I am tall, as you can imagine, I was probably about 6'2 with these boots on. Walking around campus all day, looking taller than usual calls for some more stares. LOL. I had five classes the day I wore this outfit, so by the third class I needed to change into flats. I have so much respect for women who wear heels all day. These might not have been high but I still didn't last all day in them... I guess I need more practice walking in heels.
It has been one crazy week to say the least, but I have survived! The weather here in Connecticut has quickly moved from fall, sweater weather, to pulling out the parkas! When I shot this OOTD, it was literally 48 ºF.
For this look I am wearing an oversized Levi's vest, a knit sweater, skinny jeans, and my favorite new purchase, these Hush Puppies boots. When I saw them I could not believe that they were Hush Puppies. They are sooooo comfortable and super cute, especially with the tassels on the laces. There is also a good range of colors to suit your personal style! I chose black, what a surprise! I definitely recommend these, I am sure you would be just as happy with your purchase as I am!
