Sweater Weather

As New England continues to be buried in snow, I am not motivated to go outside in the bitter cold. Of course I can't just stay inside all day  because I have to go to my classes or run errands.  My winter outfit staples are jeans, boots, sweaters, and scarfs. I love to splurge on really good quality sweaters, so today I want to show you some sweaters I would definitely have in my closet for the winter. When putting together my outfit I like to make sure that my sweater will make the statement. I have really been into long sweaters and turtle necks. There are so many ways to put together an awesome outfit with staple items.

A designer I like who has really cool and edgy knit wear sweaters is Kathryn McCarron. I love items of clothing that are different but also versatile.

All of these sweaters can be purchased from Nos Boutique!

Some more stores I like to shop at are American Eagle Forever 21Ann Taylor Loft ,
 J. Crew, and Free People

Stay Warm!!

Love at First... Swatch

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! I know I did by spending time with friends and family. Today I want to introduce you to a makeup company that has been all the rage lately, Colour Pop. I decided to order a couple products to see if they are actually worth all the hype.

This L.A. based company is fun and youthful (not saying older women won't enjoy their products) there are a variety of colors to create any look you desire ranging from vibrant warm and cool tone colors to softer more wearable everyday tones. Colour Pop not only sells eyeshadows, but they have lip products called "Lippie Stix" (How Cute?!) and they recently released blushes. What really sold me is how affordable these products are. Guess the price? The Eyeshadows and Lippie Stix are 5 DOLLARS and the Blushes are 8 DOLLARS! Enough said.

In order from top left to right

1.  Envy// A black shadow with purple glitter perfect for a smokey eye.
2. Kimono// A cobalt blue with specs of silver glitter.
3. Sugar// A light baby blue with hints of gold glitter.
4. Get Lucky// The perfect gold eyeshadow.
5. Bubbly// Beautiful baby pink perfect for spring and summer.
6. I Heart This// A neutral taupe color perfect for everyday.

In order from top to bottom

1. Envy
2. Kimono
3. Sugar
4. Get Lucky
5. Bubbly
6. I Heart This

Aren't these colors great? The formula for these shadows are like no other. They are smooth, creamy, and extremely pigmented. They are so pigmented that the darker shades may leave a bit of a stain on your skin. They almost feel like a really soft sponge so when applying, to get the best color pay off you should use your fingers or a synthetic flat brush.

If you have tried some products by Colour Pop, I would love to hear what you thought of them. If not I highly recommend this company.

My Easy Skin Care Routine

It has taken me a while to figure out what products work best for my skin. I have tried so many soaps hoping that my face would clear up. Throughout high school, I struggled with acne. I felt like I could never get rid of it. My mother, who has used Neutrogena for a majority of her life had suggested that I tried Bioré. Once I tried it, I knew Bioré was going to be my new Holy Grail face wash.

I first wipe my face with makeup remover wipes. Wipes will not remove all the makeup, so it is pertinent to wash your face with soap to remove the residue and help minimize acne from developing. I use the Bioré to wash my face after removing my makeup. What I love most about this face wash is that it has exfoliating beads to really scrub the skin to ensure that the skin will be left feeling soft and properly cleansed. I have used some face washes that have left my face feeling dry and as if it did nothing to help fight the acne.

I use the Clinique Clarifying Lotion in number 3 for combination oily skin. There are different clarifying lotions for different skin types which is awesome because the product can really cater to many people. I like to use this after I wash my face since the pores are still open, so the clarifying lotion can really be soaked into the skin. There are times when I use this product even if I didn't wash my face, because it can still remove some of the access residue makeup.

Hydrating the face is so important. I think that applying lotion to your face daily can help slow down wrinkles from forming. The Olay is very good for moisturizing your face in the morning and during the summer because it is light and won't leave your face feeling sticky or oily. During the winter I started using Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex. This cream is pretty heavy so I suggest that you use it at night. I love how luxurious it feels on the skin. My only complaint is the scent, it is not really pleasant but the main concern should be that the product is doing its job.

I found that these simple and easy steps has dramatically reduced the acne on my face. These steps must be done everyday to get the best results.

I hope my easy skin care routine will help you too!
