Olive Neutrals

If you were to check out my Instagram, you would notice a trend of simplicity and neutral colors for my outfits. Sometimes it is hard for me to go out of the box when it comes to colors. I love beautiful patterns and bright colors, but they are not what I am always attracted to.

Before florals and pastels are in full effect, I am trying to enjoy the last bit of olive neutrals. There are plenty of ways I have seen this color work for the summer, and it looks great with tanned skin. Maybe I will find a great olive summer staple!

What I love about this Polo Ralph Lauren top is that it is linen and slightly light weight. I paired this look with boots the same color as the shirt to give a more uniformed look.

Grey Basics

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I was on spring break this past week, and I really wanted to focus on taking time to relax and take care of things that I can't while at school. It felt good to be home even though the week went by fast.

As the warmer weather is rolling in, I am trying my best to get the last bit of wearing out of this grey turtleneck. Even though this outfit is very simple, I decided to trade wearing boots for black heels. Wearing heels out for a day is a bit out of my comfort zone. I tower over everyone with a 6'4 height (6'0 without) and sometimes feel as though I can't walk But, I LOVE HEELS!

I have worn this sweater so much! When it comes to basic clothing, I am all in.

I am in love with this bag! I popped into Lord & Taylor back in January not really planning on purchasing anything but this beauty caught my eye. Guess what?! I think I paid close to $50 dollars for it! It was a steal for sure! The leather is amazing and soft plus it can hold a good amount items.

Sring Transition Outfit

Sometimes I think that the weather likes to play games, and not the kind I like to play. There have been days that have been warm and comfortable and then  days that turn out to be deceivingly cold. The day I shot this #ootd, it was the later of the two. At first I had intentions of wearing a midi skirt in order to show how to create a spring transition outfit, but one step out the door and I knew that I was making the wrong decision. I quickly went inside to put jeans and a vest on. Even though it was cold, I still felt that I could get away with wearing flats.

I have to say, I think this outfit is the perfect spring transition look! It will keep you warm but allow for spring transitional pieces such as flats. I guess I will have to save the skirt for another day... or another month.

Secret Accessory // Warby Parker

Glasses are an accessory that I often do not flaunt or wear out in public. I like to consider them my secret accessory. They are always a surprise for those who didn't know that I wear them. Warby Parker is a company that has many different styles and options that will work for anyone. This spring they are launched many new frames with a variety of gorgeous colors. What is great about this company is that all frames start at $95 and they offer Home Try-On as well as having various locations around the U.S. What especially caught my attention is that when a frame is purchased they will donate to someone in need.

Since there are so many styles I think it is safe to say that you will always look stylish with a fun pair of glasses to add an unexpected twist to your outfit.

Pinterest has been my favorite tool to use for inspiration. I do not use it only for fashion, but for food, feel-good inspirational quotes and much more. I love using this tool to give me new ideas on how to wear pieces that are in my closet. Lets be honest, all the fashion pictures are gorgeous and something to aspire too #wardrobegoals. I picked some of my favorite outfits that I have pinned to give you some inspiration whether you need it or not. We all need an extra push once in a while right?

I love those boots! They pull this look together and adds more character.

Sweater dresses are cool and casual. They are super versatile and can be worn with practically any type of shoe.

The all denim look is my favorite. I think it is effortless and sexy... but only if done right.

I love that this woman added the burgundy coat as the statement piece. I think this look is so sophisticated.

Gigi has great street style. I often think my look can be similar to hers. This look is simple and perfect for an everyday outfit.

Black and white. The combination that never gets old.

Of course another denim look! This has the perfect touch of girly and edgy.

If you want to see more fabulous outfit looks for inspiration there are plenty more on my Pinterest page (Jada Nicola). Which one of these outfits is your favorite?

Blue and White

Happy Sunday! I wore this knit sweater a few post back and talked about how turtlenecks are a necessity for the colder weather and a great investment piece. They can also create put together and comfortable looks. Let me just say that when I was shooting this look, I was freezing!!! It was 8 degrees and getting colder by the minute, not to mention the wind was whipping.

I love the way this denim vest looks over the knit turtleneck, it adds dimension and edginess to the look. You always hear "Don't wear white after labor day" but fashion is all about breaking the rules! White jeans are a classic item that are crisp and easy to pair with any outfit.

Shoes For Valentine's Day

I am a shoes kind of gal. I can't help that I naturally gravitate towards them. Lets be honest... I probably buy shoes more often than I buy clothes. For Valentine's Day it is always about looking beautiful and dressing up for parties or your Significant Other. Since I love shoes, there is no better accessory than a gorgeous pump to spice up an outfit. Below I have picked out three great heels for a date night.

Spring has a great variety of clothes, accessories, and my favorite... SHOES! You are guaranteed to find something you like.

Oh Valentine

Valentine's Day is officially around the corner and there are pretty gifts to give. The items that I have gathered are mostly under $75 dollars! These are great simple gifts to give to friends, family members, or to treat yourself. I especially love the sexy robe by Victoria's Secret. I hope that you will have a wonderful and special day with your significant other or friends.

Sweater Dress

Sweater dresses are one of the easiest outfits to wear.  I think that you can create a new look each time depending on how you accessorize. This particular sweater dress is a bit more dressy so I like to wear it when I am going to church or have an engagement. The day I wore this dress, it was cold so I decided to wear knee high boots and a red bag to make the look a bit more playful. This outfit can easily be turned into a evening look by adding gorgeous pumps and a elegant bag.

Not only can sweater dresses be comfortable, they can create really cool and unique outfits. I love their versatility and the ability to work with any style.  If you want to wear one in the colder weather, you can do so by wearing a long puffer coat like I did. Fashion has no limits... even when freezing!

Cozy Knits

As the snow is falling, and I bundle myself in my blankets, I can't help but think about what I am going to wear on Monday morning. Knit turtleneck sweaters have caught the attention of the fashion world this past fall and now winter. They are super easy to style, creating new and chic looks every time. There is a comfort in wearing these knit turtlenecks that allow you to stay cozy all day while looking fabulous!

I used to despise wearing turtlenecks. My mom wore them all the time in the winter and they looked great on her. I thought that they looked odd and accentuated my long neck. They made me feel childish and uncomfortable.  Now, I cannot stop wearing them!

I can honestly say that they are a great investment. They are an item that you can pull out of your closet year after year and will still be in style. I love pieces like that! Sometimes, it makes me look forward to wearing them again, despite the cold and bitter temperatures required.

Grey & Olive

This past week was the one year anniversary of my blog! When I reflect back to the day that I started, I have grown so much in terms of content and style. It is amazing how time flies! Thank you so much for joining me on this endeavor. Now onto the clothes...!

I have a very minimalistic look. I love to wear simple outfits that are understated and modern. I chose to wear this very comfortable sweater, skinny jeans, and a gorgeous olive green sneaker. Another way to style this sweater would be pairing it with black skinny jeans and knee-high boots.

I love the way sneakers can transform a outfit. What I love about the sneakers I am wearing is that they are not running or active sneakers. They are lifestyle sneakers, which means they are perfect for wearing with jeans and yoga leggings. They have a really casual but cool look to them!

Winter Uniform

When it comes to my winter outfits, I try to stick to an easy look, one that will keep me warm and seem like I put thought into it. I always end up wearing a long sweater, skinny jeans, and boots. This outfit combination is surprisingly simple and comfortable. If you end up wearing a monochromatic look it is nice to add one piece of color, whether it is from your shoes, sunglasses, bag, or scarf... So many options! For this outfit, I chose to wear a bright red bag.

I honestly wear this "uniform" almost everyday during winter. If I am not wearing a long sweater, I am most likely wearing a turtleneck. What are your favorite outfit looks to wear during winter? Do you have a specific brand that you like wearing for the colder weather?

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I traveled to Georgia and Florida for the holidays to spend time with my family.  While I was in Florida I went to Universal, the beach, go kart racing (I love racing! So fun), relaxed, and tanned a bit. It was seriously so hot that I felt so lazy...maybe a little moody, what can you say I'm a New England girl, I prefer the colder weather.

As Twenty-Sixteen has rolled in fast there are changes that I would like to make in my life. Resolutions are getting harder and harder to keep, but there are so many goals and accomplishments that I would like to reach this year.

I printed out these very helpful resolution/goal worksheets from the lifestyle blog Life With Me by Marianna Hewitt. I have been following this blog for a while and when I saw she came up with these worksheets, I really wanted to share them with you. These sheets will allow you to stay organized and can help you write out your goals for the year. She also has a video to demonstrate how she designed them to be used.

I really like these worksheets and I think that you should give them a try. Plus they are free to print. This post was not in collaboration with Life With Me blog, I thought this was a great idea to share with you! I hope that they will help you for your resolutions/ goals for this year.

Okay... Onto some of my goals for the year!

Eat salad... and vegetables/fruits in general

I am really bad when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, especially as a college student I don't have anyone saying "Jada, you need to have some green on your plate." My family and I were vegetarian for a while and I really enjoyed it. I love tofu and vegan carob cake. As someone who ate meat for a majority of their life, as a vegetarian I honestly did not miss eating meat! This year I want to go back to being a vegetarian, eating salad, vegetables, and fruits. If you are interested I can post some healthy and tasty recipes.

Be more organized

I am never organized, but I am not a messy or dirty person. Being organized has proven to help people be more successful and relaxed. I hope to be able to keep this goal... this will probably be the hardest for me.

Be more assertive

I have always been the person that does the background work and not like to speak up. I often noticed that I did not have confidence in myself. This year I want to be able to work on believing in myself and be more confident in who I am, especially in my height, and much more. I need to learn how to speak up and allow my opinion to be heard.

I wish you all an amazing year. I am so happy to have this platform to be able to share with you! Thank you for sticking with me for the last year! I would love to know what some of your goals are for this year!
